Quick answer
On our scoring, the best-value indoor sauna right now is the Kiva Wellness Rise 4 (18.2 out of 20), just ahead of the Kylin ONYX Standard 4 Person (17.0), which has the lowest price per seat of any indoor model we checked. For outdoor saunas, the Kiva Wellness Ritual 6 Timber Front scored highest (18.4), with the Revel Eden 8 (17.0) the cheapest per seat by a clear margin. If you only care about the sticker price per person, go straight to Kylin indoors and Revel outdoors.

How we picked
“Value” is not the same as “cheapest”. A sauna that costs less but arrives in March, needs a 50% deposit you could lose, or carries a 12 month warranty is not good value. So we scored every brand’s best-value model in each category on the same nine things, using only what each brand published on its own site on 3 Nov 2026, plus independent review platforms. Brands that do not publish prices (Found Space, Sunlighten Australia, and Psycle Wellness, whose listed price is a deposit) could not be scored on price and are left out of the tables. Portable tent saunas are excluded.
- Price per seat (up to 4 points): the advertised price divided by the brand’s stated seat count (we use the lower number when a range is given). The cheapest per seat in each category gets 4, and everyone else is scaled against it. This is the only criterion worth more than 2.
- Timber (2): 2 if the species is named, 1 if it is generic, 0 if not stated.
- Heater and electrical certification (2): 2 if an Australian approval number is published for the cabin or matched to the named heater, 1 if the brand claims SAA or AS/NZS compliance or names an established heater make without a number, 0 if neither.
- Glass (2): 2 if tempered or toughened glass is stated, 1 if the glass is not described.
- Warranty (2): 2 for at least 5 years on the structure and at least 2 years on the heater, 1 for shorter or conflicting terms, 0 for 12 months or no published term.
- Local stock (2): 2 if the model shows as in stock in Australia on the day, 1 for pre-order, sold out or limited stock, 0 for made to order.
- Deposit terms (2): 2 for pay in full or a deposit of 30% or less that is refundable, 1 for unclear or partly refundable deposits, 0 for 50% deposits with forfeiture or no refund for delays.
- Delivery (2): 2 for free delivery (at least to metro areas) and a published timeframe, 1 for one of the two, 0 for neither.
- Verified reviews (2): 2 for an independent platform rating of 4.5 or more from 30 or more reviews, 1 for 4.0 or more from at least 10, 0 otherwise. Reviews hosted only on the brand’s own site do not count.

Category picks
Best-value indoor overall: Kiva Wellness Rise 4 (18.2/20)
At $4,499 for four seats ($1,125 per seat), it was the second cheapest indoor sauna per seat we found, and it scored full marks on every other criterion except glass, which the product page does not describe. It shows as in stock with free delivery Australia-wide, the page lists electrical compliance certificate SAA222024, and the warranty is 5 years on the structure with lifetime cover on the heaters. Brand profile: Kiva Wellness.
Lowest price per seat, indoor: Kylin ONYX Standard 4 Person (17.0/20)
$3,599 for four seats works out to $900 per seat, the lowest in the indoor field. Kylin has strong independent reviews and stock held in Melbourne and Sydney. It lost points because delivery is charged by postcode and we could not find a published approval number. Brand profile: Kylin Australia.
Indoor runner up: Nook Elite 3 (16.8/20)
Free delivery and installation, a 5 year parts and labour warranty and a large Trustpilot base. On 3 Nov every location showed as sold out, which cost it a point on stock. Brand profile: Nook Saunas.
Best-value outdoor overall: Kiva Wellness Ritual 6 Timber Front (18.4/20)
$8,895 for six seats ($1,483 per seat) with Japanese cedar, a 6kW Harvia heater, an 8mm tempered glass door, in stock with free delivery, and no deposit required. It was the only outdoor model to score full marks on all eight non-price criteria. Brand profile: Kiva Wellness.
Lowest price per seat, outdoor: Revel Eden 8 (17.0/20)
$6,997 for an eight person spruce barrel with a 6kW Harvia heater is $875 per seat, far below anything else outdoors. Revel’s deposit is 30% and refundable. It dropped points on delivery (no free delivery promise we could find) and on its smaller review base. Brand profile: Revel Saunas.
Best for big groups on a budget: Alpine Spas Hut 8 (14.3/20)
$11,995 for eight seats, FSC cedar and 8mm tempered glass, with a minimum 20% deposit that is refundable on the core range. Delivery is quoted separately. Brand profile: Alpine Spas.

Warning signs we found
These are taken from each brand’s own published terms or product pages on the dates shown in their profiles. They are not allegations, just things to check before you pay.
- 50% deposits: Orans Wellness asks for a 50% deposit (profile). Nordhaus pre-orders for its March shipment take a 50% deposit with the balance due before dispatch (product page). Chill Bunny’s terms describe forfeiting a 50% deposit (profile). Swell Sport offers a 50% deposit option (product page).
- No local stock: Glow Saunas builds to order with a stated 7 to 9 week lead time (profile). The Nordic Wellness SOLÉ 195 showed as sold out, and Nordhaus listed its October and November shipments as sold out.
- Short or conflicting warranties: the Nordic SOLÉ 195 page lists 12 months on the cabin and heater. Silva Saunas shows different warranty lengths in different places.

FAQ
Is the cheapest sauna per seat always the best value?
No. Price per seat is the biggest single factor in our score, but a cheap sauna with a 12 month warranty, a lost deposit risk or a three month wait can cost you more in the end.
Do seat counts mean the same thing across brands?
Not quite. Brands measure differently, so where a range is given (for example 4 to 6 people) we use the lower number. Check the bench length against your household.
Why are some well known brands missing?
Brands that do not publish a price could not be scored on price. They still have profiles in our brand directory.
Indoor or outdoor, which is better value?
Indoor infrared cabins cost less per seat and many plug into a standard 10A or 20A outlet. Outdoor traditional saunas usually need hardwiring, a level base and weather care. Our best outdoor sauna guide and infrared vs traditional comparison cover the trade offs, and heater sizing and electrical explains the wiring.
How often is this updated?
We recheck prices and stock regularly. If a brand thinks we have a fact wrong, our right of reply and corrections policy explain how to tell us, or email hello@saunasaustralia.com.
