Sauna Delivery, Assembly and Site-Access Checklist

Quick answer

Confirm the complete path from truck to commissioned sauna before ordering.

Best for: Buyers comparing flat-pack, modular and professionally installed saunas.

Wrong fit: Anyone assuming “free delivery” means placement, assembly and connection.

Main trade-off: Self-assembly may reduce labour cost but shifts access, damage, workmanship and coordination risk to the buyer.

Rate the project before ordering

  • Green: crate dimensions and weights are known; the route is measured; base, storage, labour and trade sequence are booked.
  • Amber: “free delivery” is offered but unloading, final placement or access terms are unclear.
  • Red: the crate cannot be unloaded or pass the route, the base is unfinished, or electrical/flue work has no responsible installer.

Order only at green. An amber answer must become a written inclusion or exclusion; a red item changes the model, site or delivery method.

Before dispatch

  1. Get crate dimensions, weights and unloading requirements.
  2. Measure gates, doorways, stairs, corners, slopes and final working clearances.
  3. Confirm kerbside, depot, room-of-choice, assembly and rubbish-removal boundaries.
  4. Prepare the level base, drainage, ventilation and weatherproof temporary storage.
  5. Book assembly, electrician or wood-heater installer in the correct sequence.

At delivery

Photograph the unopened crate, labels and visible damage. Check the carrier reporting deadline before opening. Keep packaging until the contents and finish have been inspected.

Before first use

Keep installer details, commissioning information, serial numbers, manuals and proof of purchase together. Do not energise or fire a system before the required licensed work, clearances and commissioning are complete.
