This page sets out the evidence behind the watch-outs on our Kylin Australia brand profile. Pages on kylinaustralia.com.au, Internet Archive (Wayback Machine) copies of those pages, the ABN Lookup register, the Kylin customer review feed, Trustpilot and ProductReview were checked on 31 Oct 2026 (Australia/Sydney). Each screenshot carries the capture date and address in the bar at the top. Where we give a view, it is our opinion based on these records.
In short: Kylin’s customer reviews look broadly genuine to us. The problems we found are in its marketing: claims about when it was founded, how many showrooms it has, the EMF figure on one model and a “regular price” we never saw charged.
1. Founding date claims do not line up
- 19 Mar 2025: the Kylin About Us page said “Founded in 2018 in Melbourne, Kylin began as a brand specializing in high-quality kitchen appliances.” Wayback copy.
- 31 Oct 2026: the same page says “Founded in 2009” and claims “over 15 years of experience”. It also says the first sauna was designed in 2019.
- 31 Oct 2026: the Kylin showrooms page says “Since 2018”.
- ABN Lookup: ABN 87 634 573 229, KYLIN AUSTRALIA PTY LTD, active from 2 Jul 2019 (live record). We found no public record under this ABN that supports 2009. An earlier business may exist, but Kylin does not name one.

2. Showroom numbers differ from page to page
- The About Us page (31 Oct 2026) says Kylin has “three showrooms in Melbourne, two in Sydney, one in Brisbane, and a new Perth showroom opening in November”.
- The showrooms page on the same day lists five: Blackburn and Lynbrook (VIC), Silverwater (NSW), Seventeen Mile Rocks (QLD) and Belmont (WA), with Perth already showing opening hours.
- The showrooms page also says “Kylin Sauna has the largest sauna showroom in Australia”. No basis is given.
- In March 2025 the About Us page listed showrooms in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
In our view buyers should call the showroom they plan to visit before travelling, and ask which models are on display.
3. Same model, different EMF figure
The 1 person K8105 has been sold as “Low EMF” in every copy we checked. The figure in its specification has changed:
- 19 Mar 2025 and 9 Sep 2025: “Electromagnetic Fields: Standard EMF 2-18 mGs”, 6 heaters, 1550W. Mar 2025 copy, Sep 2025 copy.
- 31 Oct 2026: “Electromagnetic Fields in ~10cm: Low EMF <4mGs”, still model K8105 with 6 heaters.
We found no test report for either figure, and the page does not say whether the heaters changed. Ask Kylin for the EMF report that covers the unit you would receive, with the measuring distance and instrument.

4. The K8105 “regular price”
- 19 Mar 2025: the price block showed A$1,899 and A$2,799 with a 32% off badge.
- 9 Sep 2025: “Sale price $1,899.00 Regular price $2,899.00”, 34% off.
- 31 Oct 2026: “Sale price $1,899.00 Regular price $2,899.00”.
In every copy we checked across about 19 months the K8105 was selling for A$1,899. We did not find a copy where A$2,899 was the price being charged. Most Kylin sauna listings on 31 Oct 2026 also showed a higher “regular price”, between about 5% and 46% above the sale price. In our opinion buyers should judge Kylin on the price actually charged and compare it with other brands, rather than on the size of the discount.

5. “#1”, “25k+” and health claims
- The homepage (31 Oct 2026) calls Kylin “Australia’s Top #1 Sauna Brand”. No ranking, survey or source is given.
- The showrooms page claims “25k+ Happy Customers”. No source is given. For scale, we counted 2,277 reviews on the Kylin site, 132 on Trustpilot and 75 on ProductReview.
- Product pages, including the K8105, list “Brain Health: Linked to improve cognitive function and reduced risk of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia”. The About Us page says infrared saunas help “release a number of toxins, including heavy metals, such as mercury and lead” and help “achieve your ideal weight”. The same wording was there in March 2025.
- The site says all saunas are “SAA-certified under JAS-ANZ accreditation” and meet AS/NZS 60335. The pages we checked show badges but no certificate numbers.

A sauna is not a medical treatment. In our view, health claims like these should be read as marketing, and anyone buying for a health reason should talk to their doctor.
6. Customer reviews on the Kylin site
We collected all 2,277 reviews shown on the Kylin site on 31 Oct 2026.
- 2,137 five star (93.9%), 118 four star, 11 three star, 4 two star and 7 one star. 2,259 are marked verified. 359 include a photo or video and 854 have a reply from Kylin.
- About 500 reviews dated Feb 2022 to Feb 2025 carry an identical midnight time stamp. This fits a bulk import when the current review app was set up in early 2025. A second group of about 200 reviews dated Jun 2025 to Jan 2026 had their photos uploaded on 12 Jun 2026, which also looks like an import. That group includes ten one and two star reviews, so it does not look hand picked.
- Many buyers review the sauna plus a hat, towel, oils or backrest on the same day, for example one buyer left five reviews in five minutes on 22 Apr 2026. That is normal after a review request email, but it means the review total is not a count of sauna buyers.
- We found no AI-generated text or photos. The photos show many different homes and people.
- One duplicate: a review by “Nadine B.” (30 Aug 2025) and one by “Blair” (dated 15 Sep 2025) use the same photo and almost the same wording. The same text also appears on ProductReview under “Blair QLD”. It may be the same household posting twice, but it is counted twice.

7. Trustpilot and ProductReview
- Trustpilot (listing, 31 Oct 2026): TrustScore 4.8 from 132 reviews. All reviews we could read were dated Jan to Oct 2026 at a steady 9 to 17 a month, and almost all came through invitations after purchase. Low ratings include missing items and an incomplete delivery (1 star, 2 Jul 2026) and a roof panel fault that took over a week to fix (2 star, 17 Sep 2026).
- ProductReview (listing, 31 Oct 2026): 4.8 from 75 reviews, 96% positive. Negative reviews describe a sauna shown as in stock whose delivery date kept moving for four weeks (refunded after cancelling), a heater wiring fault that support first said was normal, a warranty hinge claim answered only after a review, and difficulty getting a replacement glass door. At least one review carries a “Fair Incentive” label.
- Google: on 7 Aug 2026 the Seventeen Mile Rocks, Blackburn and Lynbrook listings showed 4.9 from 129, 4.9 from 163 and 5.0 from 31. We have not rechecked these.
8. Delivery and stock
The Kylin shipping policy (31 Oct 2026) says orders are processed in 2 to 4 days, with metro delivery by Kylin’s own team in about 2 to 10 business days and 7 to 15 business days for Perth, Hobart and Darwin. We found no deposit or pre-order scheme. The “2027 New Design Models” range was listed as available on 31 Oct 2026. Ask for a written delivery date if timing matters.
Right of reply
